Students Prepare for the Community Teaching Garden

A student draws and colors his poster for the Community Teaching Garden. On Friday afternoon, Jan. 21, students in John Jones' sixth grade class at Adler Avenue Middle School worked on a timeline that displays the progress being made in preparation for the garden, which is located at the Great Egg Harbour Township Historical Society. State Farm provided a $1,000 grant to complete the project, which will include a gazebo, water harvesting, rain barrels, and native plants, all of which will be incorporated into teaching stations.

Two students use a classroom PC tablet to search for photographs of garbage bags, so that they can place them on their Community Teaching Garden posters, along with other images of recycling bins and people picking up trash.
