Catskills Trip, Part III: Hunter Mountain

No one we spoke with at North-South Lake had ever heard of Huckleberry Point or Poet’s Ledge (two mountains that my friend and I had looked up before our trip), so we hiked another mountain that they recommended: Hunter. It was awesome. Once we got back home and had internet access, we learned that it is the second-highest mountain in the Catskills. Not bad!

Hunter Mountain info:

Distance: 5.40 miles

Elevation: 4,040 feet

Elevation Gain: 2,219 feet

    • That would have definitely been cool. We didn’t see a single person on the trail until we reached the top, though! We should get a group together and go next summer!
